Elbert County Gun Club Scholarship


Guidelines for scholarship

1. Two scholarships for $1000.00 will be awarded:

     One recipient will be a child or grandchild of a club member

     One recipient will be a resident of: Elbert, Franklin, Hart, 

      Madison, Oglethorpe, or Wilkes Counties.

2. Applicants must be a Junior or Senior in high school or a freshman in college.

3. Funds are NON-TRANSFERABLE.

4. Checks will be issued to the School and Recipient Jointly.

5. Funds must be used within 2 years of award of scholarship.

6. Applications must be received by Elbert County Gun Club March 24, 2024.

Scholarship application forms are available in the guidance office.


Franklin County Retired Educators Association Scholarship

This is a $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a Franklin County High School student who plans to pursue TEACHING as a career.

The application can be picked up in the guidance office.

The completed application and required documents should be turned into the guidance office. Deadline for submission is April 12, 2024 by 3pm.

The Lavonia Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

The Lavonia Chamber of Commerce offers two scholarships, for $500 each. One scholarship will be presented on behalf of The Lavonia Chamber of Commerce, and one scholarship will be presented on behalf of Ed Murdock. 

Applications for these scholarships are available in the guidance office. 

The completed application and required documents should be turned into the guidance office. Deadline for submission is April 12, 2024 by 3pm.

Troy Gable Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a senior who has participated in Band/Chorus or Drama at FCHS and who plans on continuing their education after high school. This award is based on financial need. The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the funds available and the scholarship committee.

Pick up the application in the FCHS Guidance Office. 

Completed applications should be returned to the guidance office by  April 12, 2024. 

North Georgia Credit Union Scholarship

North Georgia Credit Union (NGCU) offers a $1,000 scholarship to a member of NGCU, or the child of a NGCU member. The scholarships are granted to one student from each of the following schools: Stephens County High School, Franklin County High School, Hart County High School and Rabun County High School. The scholarship committee awards a high school senior based on need, grades, SAT/ACT scores, community and school projects and written recommendations. The scholarship committee reviews applications after the deadline of March 4, 2024. Application packets will not be accepted after this date, or prior to January 29, 2024.

Patterson Pump FCU Scholarship

On January 1, 2022, Patterson Pump FCU merged with North Georgia Credit Union after serving its membership for decades. As part of the merger agreement, a $3,000 scholarship was established to memorialize the legacy of service provided by Patterson Pump FCU during its years of operation.

 

Eligibility Guidelines Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

 *Applicant must either be an employee of Patterson Pump Company, or the child, grandchild, or dependent of an employee or retiree. 

* Applicant must be a high school student and on schedule to graduate with or before his or her class.

 *Applicant must have at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA and have taken either the SAT or ACT. * Applicants must plan to attend an     accredited  university, college or technical college no later than the start of the upcoming Fall Semester.

Charles Black Construction Co, Inc. College Scholarship

The Charles Black Scholarship Fund award identifies and recognizes high school seniors at various high schools in northeast Georgia who have achieved excellence in school and community life. The scholarship fund was created by the Charles Black Construction Company in 2002 as a way to show appreciation for past business relationships by giving back to the community. The scholarship was formerly known as the Northeast Georgia School Superintendent’s Scholarship. The resulting scholarships recognize today’s graduating seniors, inspire undergraduate students, and will impact the quality of life in our communities for generations to come. The scholarship is a one-time award, and the recipient school systems and amounts are determined each year by the Charles Black Construction Company. The 2024 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who plans to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school.

 

Criteria for this scholarship:

 

Franklin County High School Scholarship

This scholarship was established for graduating seniors of Franklin County High School. A combination of GPA, financial need, & extracurricular/community activities will be considered in choosing a recipient. In 2024, one scholarship for $2,500 will be awarded to a student who demonstrates all-around good character.

 

Criteria:

·         Franklin County High School graduating senior

·         Minimum GPA 2.1

·         Planning to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school in the U.S. as a full-time student

Hart EMC sponsors several opportunities for students whose primary residence is served by Hart EMC.

We offer the Hart EMC Foundation Scholarship and the Walter Harrison Scholarship. Both scholarships must be applied for separately.

(Note - In the past, students who have applied for the Hart EMC Foundation Scholarship and submitted a completed application and required documents by the application deadline have been awarded this scholarship.)

The Washington Youth Tour is an all-expense trip to Washington D.C. It is a leadership program and a fantastic opportunity. It’s fun, it’s free and it looks good on a college resume.   Very few students apply for this trip.

Meadows Surgical Arts is pleased to offer its Surgical Hope Foundation Scholarship to graduating seniors with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who are planning to enter the medical field. Scholarships are $1,000 and will be awarded to one student from each of the following schools:

 2024 Surgical Hope Foundation Scholarship applications are  available in the guidance office.

APPLICATION DEADLINE is Friday, March 1, 2024; Please submit your application to the Guidance Office no later than 3pm on March 1st.
